The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Your Second Season Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been widespread.

The first season presents a large cast of personalities residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds with songs detailing their conflicts, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the showrunner stated recently. "But I feel like me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.

That might mean viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly the new season progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating happens now.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a couple people make a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
