Toy Story 5 Trailer Sets Woody and Buzz Against a Tablet Computer

Exactly 30 anniversary since the original Toy Story film was released, establishing Pixar as a major film company and introducing audiences to iconic figures like Woody (the actor) and the space ranger (Tim Allen), who are now household names.

In 2026, the next chapter is set to arrive. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, providing a brief look into the plot but keeping viewers wondering how it will resolve the ending of Toy Story 4.

The Latest Addition: A Digital Device Frightens the Gang

The preview reveals Bonnie — who inherited the toy collection when he left for college — receiving a latest toy, one that alarms the familiar toy group. Bonnie acquires her first tablet computer, and she is excited about it.

Theoretically, the frog-shaped tablet will come to life just like the rest of her playthings. However, the characters appear to consider it as a danger coming to replace them, which it likely will.

Woody's Return: Mysteries from Toy Story 4

One thing the trailer avoids is what Woody is returned with his friends in the child's bedroom. The finale of Toy Story 4 depicted him set off on a new adventure with the shepherdess (the actress), journeying with a fair and assisting giveaway items find good homes.

Surely, the filmmakers will address the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the film. Seeing him show up in Bonnie's room without warning is somewhat puzzling, however. It also raises questions whether his partner will have come back with him. And what about the stuntman toy (Keanu Reeves)?
